WHITTAKER CLAIMS SECOND CODY'S D1NZ ROUND WIN AT MT SMART
Aucklander Curt Whittaker (Whittaker Motorsport 2JZ Nissan Skyline R34) has claimed his second Cody's D1NZ National Drifting Championship win of the season - and with it the lead in the 2011/12 series points standings - after seeing off the cream of the country's drift talent at the spectacular annual Mt Smart Stadium night round on Saturday night.
Heading into the weekend meeting Tauranga driver Cole Armstrong (V Energy Nissan Skyline R34) held a narrow series points lead over round one winner 'Mad' Mike Whiddett (Red Bull Mazda RX7) from Auckland, three-time D1NZ champion Gaz Whiter (Tectaloy Nissan S14) from Dargaville, and round two winner Whittaker.
