Connor O’Sullivan Confirmed for Drift GP at Pukekohe Park Raceway

Drift GP has locked in the next international heavy hitter. American driver, Connor O’Sullivan, will be the next overseas competitor set to take on New Zealand’s best at Drift GP, Pukekohe Park Raceway on 15 February 2026.

Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, Connor embraced motorsport from a young age. He has always had an aggressive wide-open never lift style which served him well. His first exposure to Drifting was attending Formula Drift Atlanta in 2021, he immediately refocused his primary commitment from stunt riding motorcycles, to drifting.

Connor has built an impressive résumé across major U.S. drifting platforms, including:

  • Multiple podium finishes in top-tier American drift competitions

  • Strong performances in national-level series against world-class opposition

  • Recognition for aggressive chase driving and technical lead runs

  • A rapid rise from grassroots events to international competition

Connor’s investment into drifting highlights just how dynamic and globally appealing the sport has become. Representing the US Army on the world stage is a testament not only to Connor’s driving ability, but to how far drifting has evolved as a professional motorsport.
We’re incredibly grateful to Johnny Latham for his continued commitment to travelling from the South Island to compete in D1NZ, and for hosting Connor for Drift GP in his wild BMW. – Brendon White, D1NZ Event Lead.

Within one year from Connor’s first competition, he secured multiple podium finishes at Klutch Kickers events and earned his Formula Drift PROSPEC license. Since then, Connor established a team that developed a sustainable program with support of sponsors and drifting mentors.

I’m fired up to be heading to Auckland, New Zealand for D1NZ at Pukekohe! 🇳🇿
This will be my first time competing outside of the U.S., and I couldn’t be more excited to go head-to-head with some of the best drivers from around the world. On top of that, I’ll be piloting a BMW E46 with a V8 😤 This weekend will definitely be a challenge—my first time driving a right-hand-drive car—but I’m ready to push the limits and have some fun.
Huge thank you to D1NZ and Johnny Latham for making this happen. Let’s go 🤘 – Connor O’Sullivan

Connor will be taking the reins of Johnny Latham’s Uni Control BMW E46. This car boasts a Toyota Nascar engine, making 900HP.

“I'm absolutely stoked to have Connor joining us at Pukekohe for Drift GP. He's a mad-man behind the wheel of his E46 in Formula Drift!
It will be interesting to see how he adapts to right-hand drive, and a new challenging high speed track.
Whatever happens, we will learn something and have some fun! Huge thank you to the D1NZ crew for helping make it happen." – Johnny Latham
